Ucham (உச்சம், meaning "zenith" or "exaltation") is a mobile app from UCHAM LTD that brings the Tamil almanac and traditional astrology into one place. It is made for Tamil families around the world who want to follow auspicious timings, keep track of temple festivals, and read their jathagam — wherever they live, in their own language.
Our aim is simple: make the panchangam and the practices around it easy to use on a phone, accurate, and respectful of the tradition they come from. Because Tamil families don't all follow the same reckoning, Ucham supports both the Thirukanitham (திருகணிதம்) and Vaakiyam (வாக்கியம்) panchangam methods, so you can stay true to your own. The everyday tools are free for everyone; the detailed birth-chart readings are the one paid feature that helps keep the app running and growing.
Each day shows the Tamil date, tithi, nakshatram, and the day's good and inauspicious times — nalla neram and raahu kaalam — calculated for your location. You can follow either the Thirukanitham (திருகணிதம், the drik / astronomical method) or the traditional Vaakiyam (வாக்கியம்) method, whichever your family keeps. Free for everyone.
